Lauren Bennett
Founder & Editor — The Cozy Furnish

Lauren has been rearranging furniture since she was twelve. Her parents thought it was a phase. It wasn’t.
She started The Cozy Furnish after years of decorating her own homes — and making every mistake you can possibly make along the way. Buying a sofa that looked perfect online and arrived looking like a sad beige rectangle. Painting a room a color she loved on the swatch and hated on the walls. Spending too much on the wrong things and too little on the ones that actually mattered.
None of it was wasted, though. Every bad purchase and late-night second-guess taught her something. Eventually she realized she’d built up enough practical knowledge that it felt worth sharing — and that’s how this site started. Not with a grand plan, but with a genuine desire to help people skip the learning curve she went through.
What She Writes About
Lauren’s focus is the decision-making side of home decor. How do you know when a room isn’t working? What actually makes a space feel cozy versus just look cozy in pictures? When is it worth investing in a quality piece, and when is the budget option perfectly fine?
She finds those questions more interesting than seasonal trend roundups. Trends are fine, but most people aren’t decorating for an audience — they’re decorating for themselves, and that requires a different kind of thinking.
She also writes a lot about small spaces, because she’s lived in them for most of her adult life. Good design advice shouldn’t only apply to homes with a certain amount of square footage, and she’s made it her business to prove that it doesn’t have to.
A Bit More About Lauren
When she’s not writing or deep in research rabbit holes about upholstery fabrics, Lauren is usually rearranging something in her own home, hunting for interesting pieces in secondhand shops, or drinking too much coffee with an interior book she doesn’t strictly need.
She genuinely loves hearing from readers — whether something she wrote helped you crack a tricky space, or you think she got something wrong. Either way, she wants to know. You can reach her through the Contact page.
